• SUNY Geneseo welcomes abstract submissions for oral and poster presentations, and invites you to pre-order a boxed lunch for the Rochester Academy of Sciences Fall Paper Session on November 1, 2025.

• Abstracts for oral and poster presentations may be submitted in any discipline encompassed by the Academy’s focus in basic and applied sciences, including anthropology, archeology, botany, chemistry, computer science, ecology, environmental science, geography, geology, mathematics, paleontology, physics, physiology, psychology, political science, science education, sustainability and zoology. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members are welcome and encouraged to attend and to present posters or oral presentations. You do not have to be a member of the Rochester Academy of Science to participate.

• Oral Presentations are limited to 15 minutes (12 minute talk + 3 minutes for questions). Presentations will be scheduled between approximately 10am-12:30pm on November 1. Oral presentation abstract submission deadline is October 17, 2025.

• A poster session for all poster presentations will be held after the lunch break on November 1. Poster abstract submission deadline is October 17, 2025.

• Please limit the text of your abstract to 350 words in a single paragraph. An abstract template (as a Microsoft Word file) with formatting guidance is provided on the abstract submission page to prepare your abstract for submission. • Please make sure you have paid your abstract submission fee (only one fee per submission, even with multiple co-authors) for your poster or oral presentation(s) at the RAS meeting website before continuing here to the abstract submission site. (Reminder: Cost is $10 for each abstract submission ($5 members) - to be paid directly to RAS on the RAS website https://rasny.org/paper-session

• Pre-purchase of on-campus lunch can be done through this page before Oct 24, 2025. There are other nearby options for lunch on campus and on the Geneseo Village Main St. If you are ordering a boxed lunch and have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please email them to strategicinitiatives@geneseo.edu.

• Click Enroll next to your desired wrap option to select it and proceed to a payment page for a pre-paid boxed lunch. 

Submitting an abstract for a poster or oral presentation:

• Click Enroll next to Oral Presentation or Poster Presentation below to start the abstract submission process. At this point you may be asked to login or create an account. If your institution uses Brightspace/D2L please click on the Login button and use your Brightspace/D2L credentials. If your institution does not use Brightspace/D2L, you will need to click on Register and create an account.

• IMPORTANT: To log in to the abstract submission site (which uses the Brightspace/D2L learning management system), you will have to submit an email address. If your campus also uses the Brightspace/D2L, please use the same email address you have registered with your school’s system (usually ending in .edu)
• After logging in or creating an account, on the next page that appears click the CHECKOUT button to proceed to a form to collect some personal information. 
• After completing the form, click the PROCEED button. 
• Once you see the INVOICE page, click on MY ACCOUNT at the top of the page. 
• Then click on the GO button below MY LEARNING.
• This will take you to Brightspace. Look for the Rochester Academy of Sciences 51st Annual Fall Paper Session course and click on it. This will take you to a Brightspace/D2L page with instructions for submitting your abstract. 
• If you leave the Brightspace abstract submission page without submitting your abstract, you can return to the site later either through your institution's Brightspace/D2L system or by returning to this site (https://experience.geneseo.edu/product?catalog=1752495476ajZqz) and clicking on Login at the upper right of the page. If you registered a new account, be sure to record your username and password for future use.
